Jason Baerg, a Cree-Métis artist from Saskatchewan, says despite a large portion of Indigenous people who identify as Métis, a few prominent art galleries boast less than 1 per cent of Métis art among their Indigenous holdings. It’s why he and a few others created Shushkitew, a Métis artist collective, in hopes to promote those voices.
